The Friendships of Women

Personal Reflections on Chapter 1

Q1: What is one thought that stood out to you from this chapter? Why?

Q2: Do you long for a kindred-spirit connection with other women? Explain. Pray for wisdom as you read this book.

Q3: Why are little girls and big girls sometimes tempted to be cruel? How might you pray for yourself in this regard?

Q4: Have you ever had a friend you thought would be a “perennial” who turned out to be an “annual”? Were you disappointed? How are even short-term, “annual” friendships a blessing?

Q5: Think back to the time you met a friend who is now very special in your life. Were you aware that God might be bringing you together? What about that meeting stands out in your memory?

Q6: What thought stood out to you about either parting scenes or greeting scenes? How might you apply this or pray for yourself in this regard?

This week …

Give thanks for some of the “annuals” that were in your life but have faded away. Give thanks, also, if God has given you a “perennial.”

She has done a beautiful thing to me.…I tell you the truth, wherever the gospel is preached throughout the world, what she has done will also be told, in memory of her.

—Mark 14:6, 9
