Thankfulness

Section 1

1 Thessalonians 5:18 - “Give thanks in all circumstances, for this is God's will for you in Christ Jesus.”

I GIVE THANKS TO GOD...

BY SINGING TO HIM

Psalm 100:1-5 - “Make a joyful noise to the Lord, all the earth! Serve the Lord with gladness! Come into his presence with singing! Know that the Lord, he is God! It is he who made us, and we are his; we are his people, and the sheep of his pasture. Enter his gates with thanksgiving, and his courts with praise! Give thanks to him; bless his name! For the Lord is good; his steadfast love endures forever, and his faithfulness to all generations.”

BY GIVING TO HIM

2 Corinthians 8:6-9 - “Accordingly, we urged Titus that as he had started, so he should complete among you this act of grace. But as you excel in everything -- in faith, in speech, in knowledge, in all earnestness, and in our love for you -- see that you excel in this act of grace also.”

BY SHARING MY TESTIMONY ABOUT HIM

Isaiah 12:4 - “In that day you will say: “ Give thanks to the Lord, call on his name; make known among the nations what he has done, and proclaim that his name is exalted.”

Deuteronomy 4:9 -“Only take care, and keep your soul diligently, lest you forget the things that your eyes have seen, and lest they depart from your heart all the days of your life. Make them known to your children and your children's children.”

BY PRAYING TO HIM

Psalm 105:1- Oh give thanks to the Lord; call upon his name;
make known his deeds among the peoples!

Philippians 4:6-7 - “Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.”

Psalms 147:1-11 - “Praise the Lord!

How good it is to sing praises to our God,
how pleasant and fitting to praise him!

The Lord builds up Jerusalem;
he gathers the exiles of Israel.

He heals the brokenhearted
and binds up their wounds.

He determines the number of the stars
and calls them each by name.

Great is our Lord and mighty in power; his understanding has no limit.

The Lord sustains the humble
but casts the wicked to the ground.

Sing to the Lord with grateful praise; make music to our God on the harp.

He covers the sky with clouds; he supplies the earth with rain and makes grass grow on the hills.

He provides food for the cattle
and for the young ravens when they call.

His pleasure is not in the strength of the horse, nor his delight in the legs of the warrior;

the Lord delights in those who fear him, who put their hope in his unfailing love.”
