How does God want us to communicate with Him?
Colossians 4:2 - "Continue steadfastly in prayer, being watchful in it with thanksgiving."
Pray with devotion
Acts 2:42 - "And they devoted themselves to the apostles' teaching and the fellowship, to the breaking of bread and the prayers."
Luke 18:1 - "And he told them a parable to the effect that they ought always to pray and not lose heart."
Pray with watchfulness
1 Thessalonians 5:6 - "So then let us not sleep, as others do, but let us keep awake and be sober."
Mark 14:34 - "And he said to them, 'My soul is very sorrowful, even to death. Remain here and watch.'"
Pray with thankfulness
Philippians 4:6-7 - "Don’t worry about anything; instead, pray about everything. Tell God what you need, and thank him for all he has done. Then you will experience God’s peace, which exceeds anything we can understand. His peace will guard your hearts and minds as you live in Christ Jesus."
What does God want us to pray for?
Colossians 4:3-4 - "At the same time, pray also for us, that God may open to us a door for the word, to declare the mystery of Christ, on account of which I am in prison—that I may make it clear, which is how I ought to speak."
Ask God for open doors
2 Corinthians 2:12 - "Now when I went to Troas to preach the gospel of Christ and found that the Lord had opened a door for me."
Ask God for clarity as we share Christ with others
How does God want us to speak to others?
Colossians 4:6 - "Let your speech always be gracious, seasoned with salt, so that you may know how you ought to answer each person."
Luke 4:22 - "And all spoke well of him and marveled at the gracious words that were coming from his mouth."
1 Peter 3:15 - "But in your hearts honor Christ the Lord as holy, always being prepared to make a defense to anyone who asks you for a reason for the hope that is in you; yet do it with gentleness and respect.
How does God want us to act towards others?
Colossians 4:5 - "Walk in wisdom toward outsiders, making the best use of the time."
Romans 16:19 – "For your obedience is known to all, so that I rejoice over you, but I want you to be wise as to what is good and innocent as to what is evil."
