Section 1

Deuteronomy 7:9 - Know therefore that the LORD your God is God, the faithful God who keeps covenant and steadfast love with those who love him and keep his commandments, to a thousand generations.
Psalms 145:13 - For your kingdom is an everlasting kingdom. You rule throughout all generations. The LORD always keeps his promises; he is gracious in all he does.

2 Chronicles 16:9 - "The eyes of the Lord range throughout the earth to strengthen those whose hearts are fully committed to Him."

My commitments:
Show my values
Matthew 6:24 - "No one can serve two masters, for either he will hate the one and love the other, or he will be devoted to the one and despise the other. You cannot serve God and money."
Shape my life
Proverbs 4:23 - "Keep your heart with all vigilance, for from it flow the springs of life."
Determine my destiny
Mark 8:36 - "For what does it profit a man to gain the whole world and forfeit his soul?"

Luke 14:26 - “If anyone comes to me and does not hate his own father and mother and wife and children and brothers and sisters, yes, and even his own life, he cannot be my disciple."
I give Christ:
The first thoughts of each day.
Psalms 5:3 - "Listen to my voice in the morning, Lord. Each morning I bring my requests to you and wait expectantly."
The first day of every week.
Acts 20:7 – “On the first day of the week we (the disciples) came together to break bread.”
The first fruits of every paycheck.
Proverbs 3:9-10 - "Honor the Lord with your wealth and with the firstfruits of all your produce; then your barns will be filled with plenty, and your vats will be bursting with wine."

Deuteronomy 14:23 - Eat the tithe of your grain, new wine and oil, and the firstborn of your herds and flocks in the presence of the Lord your God at the place he will choose as a dwelling for his Name, so that you may learn to revere the Lord your God always.

The first consideration in every decision.
Proverbs 3:5-6 - "Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and do not lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make straight your paths."

We get distracted.
We become complacent.
Romans 12:1 – "I appeal to you therefore, brothers, by the mercies of God, to present your bodies as a living sacrifice, holy and acceptable to God, which is your spiritual worship."

The short-term payoff
Matthew 6:31-33 - "Therefore do not be anxious, saying, ‘What shall we eat?’ or ‘What shall we drink?’ or ‘What shall we wear?’ For the Gentiles seek after all these things, and your heavenly Father knows that you need them all. But seek first the kingdom of God and his righteousness, and all these things will be added to you."
The long-term payoff
Matthew 25:23 - "His master said to him, ‘Well done, good and faithful servant. You have been faithful over a little; I will set you over much. Enter into the joy of your master.’"
2 Chronicles 16:9 - "The eyes of the Lord range throughout the earth to strengthen those whose hearts are fully committed to Him."
Romans 6:13 – "Do not present your members to sin as instruments for unrighteousness, but present yourselves to God as those who have been brought from death to life, and your members to God as instruments for righteousness."
